EPO Quantification
Erythropoietin (EPO) is a 30-kDa glycoprotein hormone that
is primarily synthesized in the kidney and has a key function in the regulation
of red blood cell production. EPO is normally present in urine at a concentration
of approximately 10 ng/L and in serum at 70 ng/L.
The EPO Quantification tools from MAIIA Diagnostics
offer a system for rapid and sensitive quantification of EPO, epoetins, NESP and
Mircera.
- The EPO Quantification Kit is a lateral flow test using our Carbon
Black Nano-Strings for determination of erythropoietin. An ordinary flatbed scanner
can be used for detection. The procedure requires no detection equipment when used
for semi-quantitative measurement.
- The MAIIAcalc software (provided for free for our kit customers)
can be used to quickly calculate the signal intensities from the scanner image file,
and to transfer the values for further calculation using suitable statistical software.
